KASHMIR CULTURAL TRUST

Kashmir Cultural Trust (KCT), is a charitable trust created to work for promotion, preservation and dissemination of National Cultural Heritage and specially so for the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmir Cultural Trust (KCT) was registered on 2nd December, 2000 by the Sub- Registrar Jammu, under registration number 659.
The unique code under ngo.india.gov.in is JK / 2015 / 0089650.

OBJECTIVES

1. To promote performing arts, languages and literature.
2. To work for documentation, research and promotion of above mentioned areas including tribal and folk art.
3. To setup libraries, museums, documentation centres, recording studios etc.
4. To organise lectures, seminars,conferences, workshops, festivals, training camps and related programmes.
5. Publish periodicals, bulletins, books and monographs.
6. To prepare and collect audio and video materials.
7. To inculcate moral values amongst younger generation and promote literacy.
8. To give awards, fellowships and scholarships to deserving persons.
9. To collaborate with external stakeholders in these areas.

Late Prof Omkar N Koul (Patron)
former Director, Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore has had a distinguished career spanning over forty years. Author of over fifty books, his main areas of academic interest were linguistics, language education, communication and comparative literature. He has also been associated among others, with several UNESCO programmes related to endangered languages and mother tongue education.

Dr. Roop Krishen Bhat (Managing Trustee)
writer, Linguist is former Professor, Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore and Director Adult Education, MHRD Govt. of India.He is an author of more than forty five books. He writes in Kashmiri, Urdu, Hindi and English. His main areas of academic interest are language, literature , culture and media. A Sahitya academy translation awardee and a prominent short story writer in Kashmiri has been a Senior Research Fellow of Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. Read Profile
